Police responding to report of armed man in town of Turtle home
TOWN OF TURTLE—Authorities are asking residents near the 2200 block of East West Hart Road in the town of Turtle to stay inside as police respond to a report of an armed man inside a home, a 911 dispatch official said Sunday afternoon.
Authorities from the Rock County Sheriff's Office as well as city and town of Beloit police were dispatched to 2232 E. West Hart Road at 1:47 p.m., the official said.
They were told a man was inside the home and that he was possibly armed, authorities said.
As of 4:40 p.m. police were still at the scene and had East West Hart Road blocked between Claremont and South Hazelwood drives, authorities said.
Dispatch officials could not say if a SWAT team had been sent to the home, which is near Beloit Memorial Hospital, referring all questions to the sheriff's office.
