On July 26, 1945, Winston Churchill, Chiang Kai-shek and President Harry Truman demanded that surrender be unconditional. Otherwise, the proclamation declared, Japan would face “prompt and utter destruction.”

They gave Japan 10 days! Not one year, not designated targets, not 50 different changes of plans to the Pentagon and no trips around the world to sell the plan! On Aug. 6, 1945, Japan got the first message!

I must say that Harry Truman was a good Democrat, even though I am not!
