Parker golfers split in Big Eight triangular
Things did not work out quite right for the Janesville Parker High girls golf team Tuesday afternoon.
Middleton defeated Parker, 162-174, in a Big Eight Conference triangular meet at Monona. La Follette fielded an incomplete team.
“It was just a little bit of a struggle,” said Parker coach Mary Ross. “It seemed each of them threw in a bad hole, and when you are only playing nine holes, it’s tough to make that up. It was just a bunch of little things.”
Micayla Richards led Parker with a 40.
“She’s been really solid,” Ross said. “She’s been leading us. She did a nice job of staying in a zone.”
The Vikings compete in the Morgan Stanley Invite at University Ridge today, and then will get another shot at Middleton at the Cardinal Invitational on Saturday.
