Meghann Hoag won at No. 1 singles but that was the only bright spot Thursday for Janesville Parker's girls tennis team.

Madison Memorial swept in doubles and won three of four singles matches en route to a 6-1 Big Eight Conference win.

Hoag improved to 8-0 on the season with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles.

“Meghann continues to roll,” Parker coach Justin Long said. “She's playing very good tennis right now, and today she moved up to No. 1 because Becky Harmata was out with a hand injury.

“But the rest of the team came out a little flat today. I hope they learn from it because we didn't play our best tennis against a team we could've played with.”
