Woodstock native uses hometown in film
WOODSTOCK, ILL.--Patrons of the Woodstock Theatre, 309 Main St. in Woodstock will feel right at home at the premiere of “The Last Rider” 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28.
"The Last Rider" was shot throughout McHenry County by Sebastian Keck, who directed the film, according to a story in the Northwest Herald.
Keck see the setting as a tribute of sorts to Northern Illinois, where he grew up.
He filmed shots in and around Woodstock, including the Railway Museum in Union and Glacial Park in Ringwood.
“The Last Rider” is the story of a Native American living on the frontier in the late 1800s, while all around him land is quickly being settled and claimed by the U.S. government.
