FRAUD ATTEMPT, reported by a town of Lima man who received a "check" for $3,750 in the mail in July. The check came with a letter telling him he had won a lottery. The man didn't believe it and turned the check over to Milton police, who passed it on to the Rock County Sheriff's Office, which agreed the case was a fraud attempt.
PARKER DRIVE AT CENTERWAY, JANESVILLE, at 11:20 a.m. Thursday, when a car driven by Julie A. Walker, 58, of 2625 Kenwood Ave., Janesville, collided in the intersection with a car driven by Patricia L. Ginchoff, 77, of 530 E. Ellendale Road No. 431, Edgerton. The impact spun Ginchoff's car around, and it collided with a van driven by Reginal D. Summerville Jr., 23, of 614 W. Racine St., Janesville. Ginchoff was reported in fair condition Monday at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville. Walker was treated and released from the hospital. Walker was cited for running a red light. Summerville was cited for driving while suspended.

JERRY M. JOHNSON, 59, Brodhead, at 1:51 p.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of 21st Street, Brodhead. It is listed as his sixth-offense operating while intoxicated arrest.
