Parker boys soccer falls to Lake Geneva Badger 1-0
BELOIT—Jorge Mayorga scored an unassisted goal in the second half to give Lake Geneva Badger High a 1-0 victory over Janesville Parker in the eight-team Beloit Memorial Futbol Frenzy boys soccer tournament Friday.
The Vikings fell to 1-1 on the season.
“Defensively, we were strong,” Parker coach Jason Bier said. “I'm happy with that. We didn't overcommit and stayed in our formation.
“We had a couple of good chances to score in the second half, but just didn't finish with a goal. I was glad to see that when we allowed the goal, we seemed to get more offensive-minded.”
Jacob Wobig finished with 22 saves for Parker.
The Vikings play Jefferson at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and then will play a second game at either noon or 1:30 p.m., depending on the result of the first game.
