Three hurt in I-90 accident
JANESVILLE—A woman who was a passenger on a motorcycle was in intensive care Monday night after an accident on Interstate 90/39 in Janesville.
Two other people also were transported for medical treatment from the accident, which occurred shortly after 4 p.m. Monday near the Highway 26/Milton Avenue interchange.
The woman in intensive care is identified as Carol Kee, 63, and the driver of the motorcycle was listed as Philip Kee, 56. The third person injured , Daniel Creed, 39, was identified as the driver of the car that struck the Kees' motorcycle.
Neither of the Kees was wearing a helmet, said Scott Morovits, shift commander at the Janesville Fire Department.
The Wisconsin State Patrol did not list hometowns for the victims in its press release.
The accident was one of two that slowed and then blocked traffic in the southbound lanes, according to news releases from the state Department of Transportation.
Traffic finally cleared around 7 p.m.
No one was transported from the first accident, which occurred near the 175 mile marker, also in Janesville.
The second accident quite likely happened because of slowing traffic from the first, Morovits said. The driver of the motorcycle told Morovits he had almost come to a stop when the bike was hit.
