Janesville's 11U baseball squad advances through regional pool play

GALESBURG, Ill.—Jared Emerson led the Janesville 11U baseball tournament team to a 3-0 record in pool play at the Ohio Valley Regional.

Emerson was voted Player of the Game twice Friday as he led Janesville to a 14-3 win over Galesburg (Ill.) and an 8-5 win over Jefferstown (Ky.). Janesville begins single-elimination bracket play this afternoon as the No. 2 seed.

In game one against Galesburg, Emerson hit two home runs and finished with six RBI. Dawson Draves was the winning pitcher in game one.

In game two, Brad Bowditch had three RBI and Emerson got the win in relief as Janesville rallied from a 5-2 deficit with five runs in the bottom of the fourth. Emerson, Mitchell Wolfley, Connor Clark and Tressin Kussmaul had two hits each for Janesville.
