CLINTON, IOWA--The Clinton LumberKings wasted no time jumping all over Beloit starter Andres Avila on Thursday night.

Clinton rocked Avila for 12 runs in one-plus inning of work on its way to a 15-6 runaway victory at Ashford University Field.

The LumberKings posted seven first-run innings by sending 12 batters to the plate. Jordy Lara belted his 10th home run, a three-run shot to left field.

The Snappers answered with two runs in the second, thanks in part to a Renato Nunez homer, but Clinton answered right back. The LumberKings got five straight hits to open the bottom of the second, chasing Avila from the game.

Matt Olson and John Wooten later hit homers for the Snappers, but by then it was too late.

Charles Kaalekahi got the victory for the LumberKings, while Jochi Ogando pitched three scoreless innings to earn a rare save in a nine-run victory.

The two teams close out their four-game series tonight.
