Ferrell, Morrison complete first rounds in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Edgerton golfers Brooke Ferrell and Andrew Morrison are both in the middle of the pack after their first rounds at the 38th Junior PGA Championship at Trump National Golf Club.

Ferrell shot a 4-over 75 and is tied for 32nd in the 78-player girls field. Ferrell is eight shots back of the leader. Morrison shot a 3-over 74 and is tied for 36th in his 78-player field. He is nine shots off the pace.

Janesville players part of Team Wisconsin

JANESVILLE—Several area youth baseball players will play for Team Wisconsin at the “Play The Turf” All State Games in Jacksonville, Ill.

Janesville will be represented at the 13U level by players Noah Berghammer, Nick Cramer and Luke Malmanger and coach Mike Berghammer. Jack Blomgren, Evan Spry and coach Brooks Graf will take part in the 14U competition. Both the 13U and 14U teams play Aug. 1-4.

Representing Janesville in 12U competition Aug. 8-11 will be Jordan Bailey, Jacob Campbell and coach Pat Campbell. Teams from six states will be represented.

Vortex wins Beaver Dam fastpitch tourney

BEAVER DAM—The Janesville Vortex 12U fastpitch softball team won its second championship of the summer this past weekend. The team went 6-1 over three days to earn the title.

Team members include: Lexi Cass, Natasha Dopkins, Sierra Hill, Camryn Rosga, Brianna Garey, Reave Myszewski, Sydney Peterson, Amanda Carlson, Jordyn Nenno and Mackenzie Forrest. The team plays this weekend in Arkdale.
