Clinton tops Beloit Snappers in 10

CLINTON, IOWA--The Clinton LumberKings used a pair of sixth-inning home runs to tie Tuesday’s game against Beloit. Then they won in walk-off fashion in the 10th inning.

With the game tied, Clinton got a leadoff single to left field by Tim Lopes to start the 10th. Lopes was moved over to second on a sacrifice bunt and then scored on Ketel Marte’s single to right field as the LumberKings won 4-3.

It was 3-1 Snappers in the sixth when D.J. Peterson and Taylor Ard belted back-to-back homers for Clinton to tie the game.

Kris Hall took the loss for Beloit in relief. Oliver Garcia got the victory.

Matt Olson went 2-for-4 for the Snappers, with a double and his 13th home run of the season.

Beloit takes on Clinton again tonight at Ashford University Field at 7 p.m.
