BELOIT—The Beloit Snappers put plenty of runners in scoring position Monday night, but nearly all of them were left stranded in a 4-1 loss to Quad Cities at Pohlman Field.

The Snappers left 10 runners on base and went 0-for-9 at the plate when those runners were on second or third base.

Quad Cities jumped on top with a run in the top of the first inning then added two more in the third. It took the victory despite being out-hit 9-8 and not having an extra-base hit.

Colton Cain earned the victory for the River Bandits, striking out five and allowing five hits and two walks in five innings.

Seth Streich was saddled with the loss for Beloit despite allowing just three earned runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings.

Prior to the game, Snappers catcher Nick Rickles was named Midwest League Player of the Week for the week of July 22-28. Rickles batted .500 during that period, going 11-for-22 with three doubles, two homers and nine RBI. He also scored three runs.
