JANESVILLE–Planning a wedding can be fun and exciting. It can also be one of the most stressful times in a person's life. One task gets completed; five more appear.

This Sunday, future brides and grooms can take one of the most important items off their checklists: the venue.

Rotary Botanical Gardens will host a "Love in Bloom" bridal expo with the help of Best Events Catering from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1455 Palmer Drive, Janesville. Cost is $5.

Mary Fanning-Penny, executive director of Rotary Botanical Gardens, said each garden will be staged for a wedding with its own theme and style.

“So often, when you're planning an event and you're looking at a nontraditional site, it can be challenging to visualize what it could look like,” Fanning-Penny said. “So this way, people have the chance to see it fully staged with chairs and décor and all of the embellishments that would be in place on the actual day of a wedding.”

Marketing Director Susan Melton advises attendees to bring cameras so they can remember what their favorite sites look like when they plan their big days.

Anyone eager to complete this important task can book a garden right then.

Prizes and giveaways will fill the day, including a free garden wedding ceremony and a $500 gift certificate to Best Events.

Local vendors also will be at the expo showcasing their wedding specials, including photographers, caterers and bridal shops. Fanning-Penny said the expo will essentially be a one-stop shop for anyone planning a wedding.

Fanning-Penny suggested that attendees bring any planning notes and questions because experts will be on hand to help.
