Authorities were called to the 1700 block of Cottonwood Drive just before 2 a.m. Wednesday for a report of gunshots, according to a police news release.
Officers heard a second volley of shots a few minutes after they arrived, authorities said.
Police determined the shots were coming from a home at 2917 Black Bridge Road, where officers detained three adults at about 3 a.m., according to the release. They also found two children sleeping at the home, police said.
Two of those adults—27-year-old Andre L. Dozier, who lives at the home, and 23-year-old Nathan A. Meehan-Hill, of 2004 Cottonwood Drive—were arrested on charges of recklessly endangering safety, police said.
Dozier is facing a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, as well, while Meehan-Hill also was being held on suspicion of probation violation, according to the release.
No one was injured in the incident, Sgt. Brian Vaughn said. Police could not find evidence that bullets struck anything in the area.
The men are acquaintances and had been firing a .45-caliber handgun in the air, Vaughn said.
After getting a warrant, authorities searched Dozier's home, where they found the handgun as well as an AK-47-style rifle, according to the release.
