Milton caretaker arrested on neglect charge
MILTON Police arrested the live-in caretaker of a Milton man Thursday after authorities said the senior was suffering from abuse and neglect in his home.
Medical personnel were called to the 76-year-old man’s home Tuesday after his caretaker, 35-year-old Syren Bolderdene, reported he had fallen, according to a news release from Milton police.
He was taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville for his injuries, authorities said.
Milton police got involved after the senior’s family members and medical officials expressed concern about his health and living conditions, Lt. John Conger said.
The man had a number of “suspicious fractures, bruising and scratches,” according to the news release.
Authorities believe he also was left in a soiled diaper and clothes for at least 24 hours, police said.
Although authorities cannot directly tie Bolderdene to physical abuse, Conger said, the poor living conditions Bolderdene left the man in were evident.
Bolderdene, whose permanent address is in Chicago, was arrested Thursday morning on suspicion of felony abuse of an at-risk individual, according to the news release.
He is due in Rock County Court on Friday.
