— Janesville police Monday arrested a man they say traveled six hours from Michigan with the intent of having sex with a 13-year-old Janesville girl, according to a police news release.

Jerry John Osmolinski of Belding, Mich., is charged with using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime; exposing a child to harmful material, descriptions or narrations; and sexual exploitation of a child, according to the release.

The charges stem from online communications that Osmolinski had with Detective Steve Williams, who had assumed the victim's identity and continued the conversation with Osmolinski for several months, according to the release.

Osmolinski was taken into custody on North Franklin Street, where he believed the victim lived, according to the release. He was taken to the Rock County Jail.
