Women of Distinction and Young Women of Distinction honors are awarded to those who have distinguished themselves through leadership, personal achievement or volunteer work in the community.

Nominees have made a difference in the lives of others and serve as role models to other women by distinguishing themselves in business/labor, education, government, community affairs, fine arts and/or health and fitness.

The corporate award recognizes a business or organization that has demonstrated responsiveness to the needs of women, or has implemented innovative ideas and practices that encourage and enable women employees to develop their leadership potential.

Nominees may have distinguished themselves by: initiating programs to improve the quality of women's lives in the workplace; addressing the economics and social needs of women; demonstrating a commitment to equity and advancement for women; encouraging women to advance into leadership roles in the organization or community.
