— A Janesville man is in custody at the Rock County Jail after a hit-and-run incident Tuesday morning.

Ricardo Moreno Jr., 29, of 727 Logan St. was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated, fifth offense; operating after revocation; and hit-and-run after police were called at 2:15 a.m. to investigate a crash in the parking lot of TAASBAG, 2339 Milton Ave.

Upon arrival, police learned a 26,000-pound rental truck had left the scene after hitting a grease dumpster and knocking it over. The Janesville Fire Department responded to the scene, put oil dry on the grease and told bar owners they'd have to clean the spill, said Scott Morovits, shift commander.

Ten minutes later, police located the truck traveling south on Highway 51. Moreno's brother, who was a passenger in the truck, jumped out and fled on foot. Eliseo A. Ramirez, 25, of 1214 1/2 Milton Ave., was found a short time later and released to a responsible party, police said.

Moreno finally pulled the truck over on Mount Zion Avenue at North Ringold Drive, and police noticed the odor of intoxicants on him. Moreno was arrested after failing field sobriety tests and admitting to drinking.
