Dustin Mitchell led 11 UW-Whitewater scorers with 20 points, and the Warhawks toppled host Wisconsin Lutheran College, 96-66, in a nonconference college men’s basketball game Tuesday night.

Whitewater (3-0) led, 50-29, at halftime.

Dustin Mitchell, who was the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, added team-high eight rebounds and two blocks.

Mike Bendall scored 14 points, while Nolan Free and Alex Edmunds each added 12 points for the Warhawks.

Junior guard Phil Negri had 10 assists for the Warhawks, who are ranked 13th in the latest D3hoops.com poll.

The Warhawks shot 59 percent from the floor (37 of 63) and 95 percent from the line (17 of 18).

The Warhawks host the Commercial Bank Thanksgiving Classic on Friday and Saturday in the Kachel Gym of Williams Center. On Friday, Aurora University plays Grinnell College at 5 p.m., with Whitewater taking on Loras College at 7.

On Saturday, Loras plays Aurora at 3 p.m., and Whitewater plays Grinnell at 5.
