Litke coached the Jets coach since the franchise opened in May of 2009.
Litke’s teams won more than 100 games and qualified for the North American Hockey League playoffs in each of the team’s three seasons in the league. Litke was named NAHL Coach of the Year for the 2009-2010 season.
“My partners and I are very grateful for the work Coach Litke has done to make our hockey club competitive from day one,” Jets president Bill McCoshen said. “Coach Litke deserves credit for our on-ice success,”
Litke thanked the Jets for the coaching opportunity.
“I want to thank the Jets owners for the opportunity they have given me over the past three years,” Litke said. “This has been a great experience, and I will take the lessons I learned in Janesville and apply them in my next coaching opportunity.”
Janesville Jets goaltender Tony Kujava and defenseman Garrett Cerere were named to the North American Hockey League 2011-12 Midwest Division Team.
Kujava played in 45 regular-season games and finished with a 28-12-3 record, including nine shutouts. Kujava posted a 1.92 goals against average and a .926 save percentage, finishing second in shutouts, in third for goals against average and fourth for save percentage.
Cerere (West Des Moines, IA) was also named to the NAHL All-Rookie squad.
