NEWVILLE Two traumatic injuries and a capsized boat kept the Rock River Safety Patrol busy on July 4.

“In all the years I’ve been out there, this was one of the crazier ones,” said Capt. Henry Sautin of the safety patrol.

A woman lost a finger in a boating accident, a speedboat capsized, and a man cut his leg on the prop of his boat, all within the space of four hours Thursday afternoon.
