The Rock County Gladiators rolled to a 48-18 victory over visiting Shorewood on Saturday for their second straight Ironman Football League victory.

Gladiators’ quarterback Dan Roberts completed 11 of 19 passes for 162 yards and three touchdowns.

Roberts also ran for two scores, gaining a 79 yards on 11 carries.

Marchez Range returned the opening kickoff 85 yards to spark the Gladiators’ rout. Rock County held a 33-0 lead after three quarters.

The Gladiators (2-0, 4-0) will host the Milwaukee Mauraders at 7 p.m. Saturday in Clinton.

At Kenosha, a late touchdown spoiled the season debut for the Rockport Mustangs on Friday night in eight-man football.

The Racine Heat scored with less than 10 minutes to play en route to an 8-6 win over the Mustangs in a Gridiron Football League thriller at Ameche Field.

Rockport scored first on Sam Parker’s 65-yard touchdown pass to Dave Harper.

The Mustang defense finished with seven sacks and three forced fumbles, including four sacks and a fumble recovery by Floyd Hodges.
