Highlights of the Delavan-Darien School District 2007-08 budget:

-- The district will receive $847,769 less in state aid than last year, forcing an increase in the levy. Taxpayers will receive $261,000 back from the state in tax credits.

-- The district is in the first year of referendum debt service payments, which also contributed to the increase in the tax levy. The transition of special education services from the county to individual districts also drove up the levy.
