BELOIT--Beloit police are looking for two people involved in a hit-and-run crash Sunday afternoon that killed a woman and injured three other people, according to a news release from the Beloit Police Department.

According to the news release:

Police and firefighters were dispatched at 5:41 p.m. to Copeland and Yates avenues, where one vehicle was overturned with four pinned occupants.

Another vehicle had been southbound on Yates at a high speed and failed to stop at the stop sign. It collided with the westbound vehicle.

Both occupants of the southbound vehicle fled the scene on foot immediately after the crash.

A 21-year-old Beloit woman, who was a passenger in the overturned vehicle, died at a local hospital. Three other victims in her vehicle, including two under the age of 2, were treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital.

Police are pursuing leads in identifying and locating the occupants who fled the scene. Police evidence technicians were assisting the Wisconsin State Patrol with evidence collection and crash reconstruction at the scene Sunday night.

No names will be released until Monday.
