Janesville Craig's girls volleyball team did not lose a set Saturday en route to the Elkhorn Invitational title. The Cougars won all five of their matches in straight sets in finishing 5-0. Elkhorn was second with a 4-1 record.
Big Eight teams had 1-2-3 finishes in both the boys and girls races at the Verona Invitational. Janesville Craig's Peyton Sippy was fourth in the girls race.
The Badgers won six events and finished with 260 points. Baraboo was second with 224 and Milton third with 218. Janesville Craig won three events and finished fourth with 186. Host Parker was sixth with 115.
Janesville Craig kicker Joe Glowacki became the hero when he tucked his 37-yard attempt inside the left upright with nine seconds left to propel the Cougars to a 29-28 Big Eight Conference road victory over Verona on Friday.
