Woman suspected of stealing more than $10,000 from Delavan Lake Resort

DELAVAN—A Fontana woman is suspected of stealing more than $10,000 from Delavan Lake Resort where she was employed, according to a criminal complaint.

Leslie V. Beukena, 63, of 739 Adahi Way, Fontana, is charged with felony theft.

While employed by the resort, 1505 S. Shore Drive, town of Delavan, she charged customers for rooms, refunded the rooms, deleted the reservations and pocketed the money, the complaint states.

Beukena was employed by the resort from 2008 to 2013.

She told town of Delavan police she stole money the entire time she was employed by the resort, according to the complaint.

Her employment there ended Oct. 19, 2013.

Beukena also told police she didn't know how much money she took but estimated it was between $1,000 and $10,000. She also told police she gave family and friends free rooms on about 50 occasions, the complaint states.

A general manager estimated the total amount taken is in excess of $10,000, according to the complaint.
