Three running for Rock Town Board

— Three candidates—incumbents Peter Parker and Dean M. Connell and newcomer Tony Dubanowich—are seeking two seats on the Rock Town Board.

Dubanowich did not respond to a Gazette request for information.

Dean M. Connell

Age: 49

Address: 5935 W. Hanover Road, Janesville.

Job: Fourth-generation farmer

Education: Graduate of Parkview High School

Community service: Town Board and planning and zoning committee; oversight committee for Caravilla Education and Rehabilitation Community Center; former Farm Bureau member.

Elected posts: Rock Town Board member for three terms

Major campaign issues: “Trying to maintain our roads and still keep taxes low as possible and work closely with the city of Janesville on our boundary agreements.”

Peter Parker

Age: 55

Address: 4233 Hanover Road, Janesville.

Job: Dairy farmer and General Motors retiree

Education: Parker High School graduate, attended Blackhawk Technical College and UW-Rock County.

Community service: 4-H leader and United Way

Elected posts: Rock Town Board member for two terms

Major campaign issues: “To maintain our roads the best we can with the limited funds available, keep the town tax rate low, work on a new cooperative boundary agreement with the city of Janesville and listen to residents’ issues as they arise.”
