— Two candidates—incumbent Dennis Knudson, Evansville, and challenger Greg Swanson, Janesville—are seeking a seat on the Center Town Board.

Knudson sees farmland preservation as a major campaign issue, while Swanson said fiscal responsibility is necessary during these difficult economic times.

Gregory J. Swanson

Age: 50

Address: 7143 W. Thornapple Drive, Janesville.

Job: Transportation manager of operations at True Value.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from UW-Eau Claire and master’s degree in business with a focus on finance/IT management from UW-Whitewater.

Community service: None

Elected posts: None

Major campaign issue: Fiscally responsible management.
