Parents of sex assault victim want suspect tested for HIV
ELKHORN The parents of a boy authorities allege is a sexual assault victim of former Big Brother Rodney Meiller want Meiller to undergo tests for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
Walworth County Deputy District Attorney Joshua Grube submitted a motion Aug. 2 asking the court to compel Meiller to submit to an HIV test and tests for other sexually transmitted diseases.
Meiller, the former president of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rock Walworth and Jefferson Counties, is charged with two counts of repeated sexual assault of the same child and one count of repeated first-degree sexual assault of the same child. He is accused of having sex with two boys age 11 and 14.
Grube's motion did not indicate which boy's parents requested the tests. Grube also asked that the results of the tests not be made part of Meiller's permanent medical record.
"There is probable cause to believe the defendant has significantly exposed the victim," Grube wrote.
In another development, the court file includes a document that indicates Meiller "has been a patient at Froedtert Hospital" in Milwaukee since June 21. The documents do not indicate what Meiller is being treated for, nor do they show a release date.
Meiller's case is scheduled to be back in court Wednesday, Aug. 22.
