— A foundation set up by the Janesville School District is offering online shopping as a way to donate.

The Janesville Excellence in Education has joined with Create Excitement for Public Schools to offer a program that diverts a portion of online purchase prices from Amazon and other companies to the foundation.

Participants must register to have their purchase count for a donation.

To register, visit gazette

xtra.com/create and then click on the Create Excitement logo.

Registered participants receive a daily email from Amazon, the Groupon deal of the day for this area, and links to other participating companies. Participants can opt out at any time.

The Janesville EIE Foundation was established in 2010 with donations from local businesses, alumni and supporters of the Janesville School District.

The fund's mission is to enhance educational programs, extend educational opportunities, encourage innovation and recognize the achievement of students and staff.

The fund operates independently of the school district operating budget.
