Monroe took a 6-0 lead, which was enough to defeat host Edgerton High, 6-4, in a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal baseball game Tuesday.

Edgerton (16-10) battled back to within 6-3, but left the bases loaded in the sixth. The Crimson Tide scored a run in the seventh, but a fly ball with one on was caught at the warning track to end the game.

The loss deprived Mike Gregory, Edgerton’s 23rd-year head coach, of his 300th career victory. The Crimson Tide finished 16-10 after winning its third straight Rock Valley North championship.
