-- TWO JANESVILLE BOYS, ages 9 and 13, referred to juvenile authorities on charges of arson for the 9-year-old and party to arson for the 13-year-old. They are accused of playing with smoke bombs, one of which the 9-year-old allegedly threw into a large metal trash container at St. Matthew’s Church, 709 Milton Ave., Janesville, on Saturday night. The resulting fire caused an estimated $500 in damage to the container and $1,000 to a garage belonging to the church.

-- FRANCIS E. HATCH, 44, of 877 Sussex Drive, Janesville, at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at his residence on a charge of child abuse causing bodily harm. He allegedly choked and threw to the ground a 17-year-old girl.

Intoxicated driving arrests

-- JONATHON D. BOX, 21, of 3204 Hampshire Road, Janesville, at 12:56 a.m. Monday at Deer Crossing and Red Oak drives, Janesville. The arrest was listed as his second for intoxicated driving.
