Partners in Prevention recognizes three efforts to help curb drug and alcohol abuse among area teens during ceremonies at Blackhawk Technical College Wednesday morning.

Rock County Youth2Youth has been an active coalition for 20-years. Since the inception of Youth2Youth over 2,500 Rock County teen's have served as peer-to-peer advocates and have reached thousands of local youth with a drug free message. Edgerton Schools Health Teacher Barb Gausman was recognized for developing an alcohol and drug curriculum that was presented at the State Adolescent Health Symposium in Green Bay this past February. Before Gausman's efforts, such curriculum did not exist for local high school instruction. The City of Milton Police Department was recognized for their initiative in procuring a permanent prescription drop-box and developing a city ordinance prohibiting synthetic marijuana.
