Three of the occupants were pronounced dead at the scene: Tackett; Brandon W. Lawver, 18, Beloit, who was riding in the front seat; and James W. Brown, 21, Beloit Township, who was riding in the back seat.

The driver appeared to be the only person wearing a seatbelt, according to the release.

Antonio M. Douglas, who was riding in the back seat, was flown by helicopter to Rockford Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Tuesday afternoon.

Police found no indication that alcohol was involved, according to the release.

Authorities estimate the car was traveling at more than 80 mph at the time of the crash, according to the release.
