Beloit Police are investigating the deaths of three area men in a car crash early Tuesday morning.

Patrol officers responded to the intersection of Manchester and Strasburg at 12:45 a.m., for a single vehicle crash. Authorities say the car hit a tree and power pole with such force, the vehicle split in half, and debris was strewn more than a block away. The vehicle had been west bound on Manchester, and due to excessive damage, speed can only be estimated in excess of 80 mph. The deceased include the driver, 28-year-old Brian Tackett of Rockton, 18-year-old Brandon Lawver of Beloit, and 21-year-old James Brown of Beloit Township. 19-year-old Antonio Douglas of Beloit was taken to Rockford Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Police say they find no indication alcohol was involved at this time.
