Beloit police notify neighbors of convicted sex offender release
Beloit police are planning a special meeting with residents in the neighborhood of 1110 Copeland Avenue.
Captain Vince Sciame says 33-year-old Corey Standfield will be living at that address, and he's been convicted of Attempted 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child. Sciame says part of the concern is Standfield has served his entire sentence, and isn't even on probation. A community notification meeting is planned for 6:00 p.m. Thursday night at New Life Ministries Church at 1400 Harvey Street. Sciame says 500 flyers have been sent out.
He says the meeting will include information regarding sex offenders in general, the subject in question, and protective behavior advice for parents to share with their children.
