— The scoring binge continued Tuesday night for the Janesville Bluebirds.

Janesville’s high school co-op hockey scored four times in the third period in pulling away for a 7-1 Big Eight Conference win over Sun Prairie.

The Bluebirds (14-5-2, 9-3-1) have scored 18 goals in their last three games.

“The most exciting part about what is happening now is that we’re getting better down the stretch,” Janesville coach John Mauermann said. “The kids have played well and are enjoying the ride.”

Janesville fell behind 1-0 in the first before Cody Stettin tied the game at 4:25 of the opening period. The Bluebirds took the lead for good on Cody Iverson’s goal at 3:30 of the second.

Iverson and D.J. Mussey scored two goals each for Janesville.

The Bluebirds finish the regular season Saturday at 5:30 p.m. when they host Beloit Memorial.
