Scott Barth has resigned as Oregon High School boys soccer coach.

Barth, coming off back-to-back Badger South Conference championships, will be moving to Texas with his wife, Tricia, and their two girls.

Barth said his wife will soon begin a new job near Dallas, while he and his children will continue to live in Janesville until the end of the school year.

“I will at some point try to continue coaching,” said Barth. “But we’ll see what happens. I don’t know a lot about the area.”

Barth, a native of Menomonee Falls, coached three seasons at Big Foot High School, where he was an assistant with the girls for two years and a boys assistant for one year.

He then spent seven seasons as the Milton boys head coach, highlighted by a trip to state in 2002.

The last two seasons his Oregon teams went unbeaten in the Badger South and advanced to the WIAA Division 1 sectionals both years.

“It was a very difficult decision, I’d have to say,” Barth said of stepping down. “Soccer gives me a lot of pleasure and excitement. I have a very high passion for it.

“I’ve really enjoyed the last four years at Oregon,” he added. “I expect really, really good things out of Oregon next year.”
