— Beloit police are investigating over 30 residential burglaries reported over the last six to seven weeks.

Captain Vince Sciame says the locations of the crimes are all over town and the reports are coming in at all times of the day and night.

Most of the break-ins are occurring while the home owners are away, but at least two of the crimes were committed while someone was home. Items targeted for theft include flat screen tv's, tv video gaming systems, lap top computers and other items easy to carry off.

Sciame says residents need to be vigilant and report any suspicious persons, vehicles, or activities as soon as you see it. Call 911, Crime Stoppers, 362-7463, or the Beloit Police Department, 364-6800, with information.
