— Two men face several felony charges after homes and bars in four counties across southern Wisconsin were burglarized.

Daniel J. Hodge, 32, of 1015 Ruger Ave., Janesville, and Brandon E. Kinder, 26, of 57A N. Newcomb St., Whitewater, were arrested Thursday on six charges of burglary and theft, according to a Rock County Sheriff's Office news release.

They are suspected of breaking into game machines, change machines and safes inside bars.

The burglaries occurred in rural Rock, Jefferson, Walworth and La Crosse counties, according to the sheriff's office. They also happened in Janesville, Beloit, Whitewater and Darlington.

According to the sheriff's office:

The Afton Pub, Castaway's bar, Bogg Trotters and Hanson's Hollow were burglarized in September. The burglars sometimes took safes or change machines from the bar and dumped them into the Rock River.

Several of the machines were found, including one machine from a bar in Williams Bay that had been burglarized.

Investigators had suspects and started following them Thursday. They followed them to an area outside Cambridge in Jefferson County. That night, someone attempted to enter D-Day Bar outside Cambridge, setting off an alarm.

Hodge and Kinder were arrested and taken to the Jefferson County Jail. The men implicated themselves in several burglaries, according to the press release.

The investigation is continuing.
