— Rock County Sheriff's Office deputies ticketed seven drivers for "driving while intoxicated" over a 24 hour period beginning August 27th.

Captain Todd Christiansen says five of the first seven arrests were for "first offense," one was for "second offense," and one was for "third offense." Four of the seven arrests were made by the special patrol while the others were stops made by deputies on routine patrol.

The next special enforcement effort is scheduled for over the Labor Day weekend. The extra patrols are funded by a $30,000 grant from the Bureau of Transportation Safety.
