Warhawks make history with World Series win
WHITEWATER—UW-Whitewater's baseball team helped the men's athletic program make history Tuesday.
Scott Plaza pitched a complete-game to lead UW-W to a 7-0 win over Emory University in the championship game of the NCAA Division III World Series.
With the title, the Warhawks became the first NCAA school to win a national title in football, basketball and baseball in the same academic year.
Only two NCAA schools won national titles in football and men's basketball in the same academic year. Florida did it in Division I in 2006-07 and Whitewater in 2011-12.
