JANESVILLE—Sean McCann pitched eight scoreless innings for the Milton Raptors and struck out seven Janesville Aces in an 8-0 Rock River League victory Sunday. McCann has 17 strikeouts in two games so far in RRL play.

As in his first start, McCann was able to keep the ball down against the Janesville batters Sunday and threw his breaking pitches for strikes, Milton manager Doug Welch said.

“Sean has been a real big part of our first two wins of the season,” Welch said.

It took the Raptor offense a few innings to get on the board against Aces starter Mike Davis, but Milton finally broke out for four runs in the top of the fifth by playing small ball.

T.J. Klawitter delivered an RBI single with runners at the corners, and Jeff Jacobson drove in two runs with a bases-loaded single in the frame.

Milton added three insurance runs in the eighth to assure McCann of his second win of the season.

The Raptors play in Marshall on Thursday in Home Talent action before traveling to Farmington on Sunday for another Rock River League matchup.
