Madison West, ranked No. 8 in the latest state boys tennis rankings, swept Janesville Craig on Tuesday.

It was the Cougars’ first Big Eight Conference meet after falling to Elkhorn before spring break.

“They are extremely well-coached and a very dominant team,” Craig coach Justin Long said. “I told the guys that we’re going to be playing much better competition, and this is it. Out of the top 10 teams in the state, we have three, so we have to up our game and play better.”

Craig faces Verona on the road on Thursday.
