One day after nearly being no-hit by the Lansing Lugnuts, the Beloit Snappers’ bats came alive early in a rematch at Pohlman Field.

Beloit scored nine runs in the first three innings and raced away with a 10-4 Midwest League victory in the rubber match of the three-game series.

The Snappers chased Lugnuts starter Tom Robson from the game in the first inning as they scored three quick runs.

Beloit added two more in the second on B.J. Boyd’s second home run of the season. Three of the four runs scored in the third came on center fielder Boog Powell’s first homer.

Ronald Herrera threw five shutout innings to move to 2-1.

Beloit has the day off today before opening a seven-day road trip Monday at Kane County.
