State Rep. Tyler August to seek re-election
LAKE GENEVA—State Rep. Tyler August, R-Lake Geneva, has announced he is seeking a third term in the Wisconsin State Assembly.
August announced his intentions Monday to the 32nd Assembly District, which includes Kenosha, Racine and parts of Walworth County.
August's campaign will focus on his achievements since he was first elected in November of 2010, according to a news release.
August claims his successes include balancing the state budget and cutting taxes three times in his last term.
“I've been encouraged by the progress we've made by reforming the way business is done in Madison,” August said in a press release. “Working with Governor Walker, I believe we've put Wisconsin back on the right track by balancing the budget, cutting taxes, and improving the economic climate.”
August is Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore. He was elected to the position in September 2013.
August is a seventh generation resident of Walworth County, according to the release.
Declarations of candidacy are due to the GAB at 5 p.m. Monday, June 2.
The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 4.
