The Rock County Conservationists will offer two different canoe/kayak trips on local rivers Saturday, April 19.

The first trip will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Yahara River west of Edgerton. Participants should meet at Murwin Park off County H in Fulton, where shuttles to the river will be arranged among participants.

The Yahara River is a wide, shallow river with a gentle current that is suitable for beginners and family-style paddling.

The second trip will be from 2 to 6 p.m. at Badfish Creek near Cooksville. Participants should meet at Murwin Park in Fulton.

Badfish Creek is a narrow, twisting waterway with a quick current and many obstacles that require good boat control. It is not recommended for beginners and is not suitable for large canoes or family-style paddling.

Participants are welcome to bring their own canoes or kayaks. A limited number of kayaks will be available to use at no charge.

Reservations are required by calling 608-868-3824 by Thursday, April 17.
