Janesville Craig’s and Janesville Parker’s gymnasts produced their highest team scores of the season Thursday night but came up short in Big Eight Conference dual meets.

Craig High scored 131.075 but fell to Madison West, which finished with 135.05. Parker had a team total of 125.6, but Middleton won the meet with a score of 134.45.

Parker’s Hailey Leisten won the floor exercise and the all-around to pace the Vikings.

“We had some falls on beam, but if we can clean those routines up, our team score will definitely be higher in the next few meets,” Parker coach Heidi Jegerlehner said. “I have faith in our team.”

Craig got a tie for first place on floor exercise from Gabrielle Geller and Michelle Cagney en route to its highest team score of the season.

“Our girls competed really well tonight,” Craig coach “West got us most on uneven bars, but the rest of the meet was fairly close. The girls are working hard to bump up the skill level in their routines and it’s starting to pay off.”

Parker competes at the Madison Memorial Invitational on Saturday.
