Oregon holds off Milton's rally
Another furious fourth-quarter rally came up just short in Milton on Tuesday night.
The Red Hawks nearly came all the way back from a 16-point deficit after three quarters, but they fell in a 50-47 Badger South Conference loss at home against Oregon.
Oregon led 39-23 through three quarters, but Milton senior forward Noah Johnson scored nine of his team-high 14 points in the fourth to help lead the charge.
The Red Hawks pulled within one point, but Oregon hit two free throws with 17 seconds left to make it a three-point game.
Milton misfired on three 3-pointers at the other end—and were shutout from beyond the arc for the game—to see its comeback bid come up just short.
Tyler Hammil added 10 points for the Red Hawks, who dropped to 2-4 in league play. Oregon improved to 2-6.
